New Pro Hockey Team Set To Begin Play In A.C.
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – After two months of wide spread anticipation and curiosity, and with the help from area fans, the Atlantic City Hockey Club will officially be called the "Boardwalk Bullies", it was announced this morning by General Manager Matt Loughran. The team name was chosen through an extremely successful "Name-the-Team" contest, as thousands of entries for the new name were submitted, including at least 500 different names. Patrick Mullin, an 11-year-old from Atlantic City, was selected from a group of individuals who wrote in the name "Boardwalk Bullies". Key players for the Bullies are center Stefan Rivard, Jamie O’Leary, defenseman Troy Neumeier, Kevin Colley from the New Orleans Brass, and All-Star goalie Kenric Exner from the Peoria Rivermen.
The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies will play its inaugural hockey game against the Wheeling Nailers on Friday, Oct. 12, at the renovated Historic Boardwalk Hall at 7:00 p.m. Season tickets, flex plans, and group tickets are on sale by calling (609) 348-PUCK.
