Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks

by Vegas Hags | Sep 29, 2002
Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks Week 3 was another great week for both Vegas Hags and the Eagles! This week the Eagles play a minor league preseason game against the expansion Texans. The rest of the league plays real games, so I will still have to be on top of my game to win! There’s some great old – time rivalries being played out this weekend and there’s a few upset opportunities, too.

Miami –3 at Chiefs
The Dolphins have looked phenomenal so far this year. The Chiefs have been asleep at the wheel. It looks like a slam - dunk for the Fish, but check out that line. I’ll go safe here, but don’t be surprised to see the upset.
Dolphins 31 – Chiefs 27

Bears +3 at Bills
I’m still not sold on the Bears. The Bills on the other hand, have a great offense run by Drew Bledsoe, but forgot how to play D. I like the Bills at home here over the pretender Bears.
Bills 24 – Bears 19

Saints –7 at Lions
The Lions are the other minor league team in the league.
Saints 33 – Lions 17

Panthers +7 at Packers
The Panthers are 3-0 behind new coach John Fox. I know, I’m in shock, too! Of course, they haven’t played anyone decent yet…until today. It’s time for loss #1.
Packers 27 – Panthers 13

Jets +3 at Jaguars
Are the Jets as bad as they’ve looked? A friend of mine (yeah, he’s a Jets fan), thought they would play the Eagles in the Super Bowl this year. Well, he may end up being half-right! As long as Fred Taylor stays healthy, the Jags are pretty good.
Jaguars 26 – Jets 21

Texans +20 Eagles
Rest the starters early, Andy. 20 is too much too give, though. The Birds will own the game early and then coast.
Eagles 27 – Texans 10

Browns +6.5 at Steelers
Old time football. All you need here is 20 degree temperatures and snow flurries! The Steelers will bounce back and put a hurting on the Brownies here.
Steelers 24 – Browns 13

Cowboys +11.5 at Rams
Will the real Rams please show up? Here’s the coming out party.
Rams 35 – Cowgirls 13

Giants –3 at Cardinals
The Cards are at home and the desert heat should be a factor. I still think the G-men cover, but that’s why the spread is so low. If you are an Eagles fan, root for the upset here. The Giants will challenge all year.
Giants 19 – Cards 13

Bucs –6.5 at Bengals
Come to think of it, the Bengals may also qualify as a minor league team. What is the deal in Cincy? 3 starting QBs in 4 games? I guess when they all suck it just doesn’t matter.
Bucs 27 – Bungles 13

Titans +7 at Oakland
The Raiders should be well rested coming off the bye. If the aren’t rusty out of the gate, they could pull away. I think the Titans keep it close.
Raiders 24 – Titans 21

Pats –3 at Chargers
Can you say upset? This might be a good spot. Nah, I’m a believer.
Pats 20 – Chargers 16

Vikings +3 at Seahawks
Who wants to see this game? I didn’t think so. Mike Holmgren is on the hot seat and since he is the better coach, I’ll take him here.
Seahawks 28 – Vikes 24

Denver –7 at Baltimore
Baltimore used to have a great D and no O. No they have neither. The Broncos on the other hand have both. This is one ugly MNF match-up. Broncos 24 - Ravens 9

Bye week: Falcons, 49ers, Redskins, Colts

Vegas Hags record to date:
Against the spread: 32-13
Straight up: 32-13

Have a great weekend of football. See you next week!
