SJ Schools: Delsea Regional HS

SJ Schools: Delsea Regional HS Delsea Regional High School, home of the Crusaders, enjoys a long history of academic excellence. The school has produced students that ahve gone on to attend Ivy League schools, top military academies, and other accelerated programs around the world.

Delsea students rounded up the 2002-2003 school year with several accomplishments. Congratulations to the following students who displayed academic and athletic excellence as well as became positive role models for future Crusaders.

Each year, Delsea honors its athletic students with the Athlete of the Week award. These students must show excellence through one of Delsea’s co-curricular sporting activities. Congratulations to Frank Borelli, Darnell Elie, Stacey Foster, and Lauren Hartman for earning this recognition in the 2002-2003 school year for their respective sports.

This year, the Delsea media center held a poetry contest for students to display their talent through creative writing. Students from each class entered poems and one student per class was chosen as a winner. Congratulations to Heather Farquer, Justin DiBiase, Sean Dougherty, and Michael Chini for their winning entries.

Delsea’s music students enjoyed a banner year during the 2002-2003 school year. They earned several awards including All South Jersey Band, All South Jersey Chorus, All Eastern Symphonic Band, All State Band, All Eastern Chorus and the Recipient of NJ Governors Award in Arts Education.

Delsea students are committed to helping the needy and homeless students in the Delsea community. The ‘Crusader’s Crusade’ was established in 1995 to help the homeless students that attend Delsea. The club solicits donations year round to help children that have lost their homes to a fire, have been abandoned by their parents or have lost their home due to financial reasons.

Congratulations to the students running for office for the 2003 and 2004 school year. These students display excellent leadership skills and a drive to succeed. Six people are chosen to represent each class as well as six people are elected to oversee the organization. The new 2003-2004 officers include

For the Freshman class: President - Jenna Fagan; Vice President - Kate Sottosanti; Secretary - Alicen Ragonese; Treasurer - Brandon Colucci; and Representatives - Amber Hoolahan & Brianna Piecyk.

For the Sophomore class: President - Brittany Stiles; Vice President - Mark Hoffman; Secretary - Linda Arroyo; Treasurer - Christina Mazzoni; and Representatives - Robert Bruni & Natalie Rambone.

For the Junior class: President - Zach Coates; Vice President - Dave Allonardo; Secretary - Nick Schossig; Treasurer - Gina Trasferini; and Representatives - Justin Dibiase & Lyndsey Piecyk.

For the Senior class: President - Pat Hann; Vice President - Tom Conroy; Secretary - Derek Mayne; Treasurer - Anne McCarthy; Representatives - Rebecca Sinclair & Pete Trasferini.

2003-2004 SGA Leaders: President - Dan Blomquist; Vice President - Phill Marchini; Rec. Secretary - Jackie Burd; Corr. Secretary - Douglas Rah; Treasurer - Krystin Paglaiccetti; and Public Relations - Barbie Sorey.
