Ritz Theatre Reaches Out

by Press Release- | Sep 6, 2005
Ritz Theatre Reaches Out Bruce Curless, the Producing Artistic Director of the Ritz Theatre Company, is making an appeal to theatre-goers and organizations to help the victims of Katrina.

In a letter sent out recently, he states,

"I am touched with great sadness at the loss of life and property in the great city of New Orleans and the Gulf coast. I cannot imagine the anxiety, fear and danger these survivors are facing. The images of the elderly, the children, and the great masses of humanity, which have innundated the media, have compelled me to do something.

As a leader of an arts organization that is constantly raising money for the arts and our organization, I find it of little value if we don't also respond to the great need of our fellow citizens and neighbors. We know that the Arts improve the quality of life, and it does, but we also have an obligation to protect that life we want to enrich.

During every performance of our fall production, Of Mice and Men, we will be working with the American Red Cross and raising money for the Katrina Relief Fund. From the stage during our Curtain Speech we will appeal to our supporters to reach out to those in great need by donating what they can to the American Red Cross, who will provide collection containers for us.

I reach out to you to help us with this initiative or start your own or contact the American Red Cross. In Camden County the Number is 856-365-7100. The need is great and it is now and it will be here for a long time. I urge you all to take action."

The Ritz Theatre is located at 915 White Horse Pike in Oaklyn. You can reach them by phone at (856) 858-5230, by FAX at (856) 858-0812, or online at www.ritztheatreco.org/.
