Franco Puliti on Display

by Press Release | Sep 19, 2005
Franco Puliti on Display The vibrant oil paintings of acclaimed artist Franco Puliti will be the focus of a special exhibition taking place at Our Lady of Pompeii Church’s Rosary Hall in Vineland, New Jersey on Saturday, October 1st, 2005 from 7-10:00 pm. On display will be an illuminating overview of Puliti’s work from his charming European street scenes and light-filled landscapes to his lovingly detailed still lifes and vivid abstracts. The artist himself will be attending the exhibition.

The Italian-born and raised Puliti’s paintings reflect not only his fondness for the romance of his native Europe but also a deep love for his adopted homeland of America. His work combines the depth of a classical art education at the Liceo Artistico in Lucca, Italy with the artist’s special eye for emotionally-engaging subject matter.

The event will feature over 70 of Puliti’s paintings, all of which will be available for purchase. Wine and cheese will be served during the event. Wine will be provided by Bellview Winery of Landisville. The exhibition is open to the public and admission is free.

About Franco Puliti

Franco Puliti was born in 1945 in Livorno, Italy. After completing his art education in Lucca, Italy, he immersed himself in the new generation of artists, the post-Macchiaioli Toscani movement (the Italian equivalent of French Impressionism).

In the late 1960’s, he opened a studio in Livorno, where he had a permanent exhibition until the mid-1970’s. Puliti moved to the United States in 1980, continuing his flourishing career. During a short stay in England and France, the beauty of London and Paris inspired the artist to a series of paintings exploring the interplay of light and shadow, depicting subject matter balanced between dream and reality. The careful geometric design and harmonious distribution of color that characterizes Puliti’s work is a reflection of the artist’s rigorous education in classical art.

Puliti’s work has appeared in exhibitions internationally, including Premio Pancaldi in Livorno, Italy; Il Caminetto Tirrenia in Pisa, Italy; the Ridgewood Art Institute in Ridgewood, NJ; Lake Worth Art League, Inc., in Lake Worth, FL and Watercolor USA in the Springfield Museum in Springfield, MO.
