Jim Dedrick improved to 2-3, earning the win for the Thunder. He allowed no runs on two hits, one walk and three strike outs in three innings. Jake Robbins took the loss for the Navigators, as he allowed two runs on one hit, one walk and one strike out in one inning. He falls to 3-5 on the season. Marty McLeary earned his fourth save of the season, pitching the Thunder ninth.
The Thunder scored one run in the bottom of the first when Aaron Capista came home on a single to right by Shea Hillenbrand. Norwich tied it up in the top of the second on a sacrifice fly by Julio Mosquera, 2-2 on the night.
The score remained tied until the Thunder eighth. Hillenbrand reached first on an error by Norwich third baseman, Scott Seabol, followed by a Tony DeRosso walk. Mark Fischer tripled to score the two and the Thunder led it 3-1. Norwich did not score in the ninth, ending the game after 3 hours and 4 minutes of play.
The teams will face each other again tomorrow at Waterfront Park. Chris Reitsma (7-1) will get the start for the Thunder against Randy Flores (9-9), who will be on the mound for the Navigators. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.
