Trenton Thunder News NEW HAVEN – Three runs in the ninth innings, and a wild pitch scored Mark Fischer as part of a three-run 10th innings, and the Thunder defeated the New Haven Ravens, 8-5, in front of 3,025 fans at Yale Field.

Andy Hazlett (6-3) got the win as he allowed no runs on one hit, no walks and no strikeouts over two innings. The loss went to Ivan Montane (2-5), who gave up three unearned runs on three hits, no walk, and three strikeouts in one inning of relief.

Against Thunder starter Chris Reitsma, Ramon Vazquez`s two-run home run in the fifth gave the Ravens a 2-0 lead. In the sixth, Keith Gordon`s solo blast extended the Ravens` lead to 3-0.

Jess Graham smashed a two-out two-run home run in the Thunder seventh against Ravens` starter Josue Matos cut the New Haven lead to 3-2.

Thunder reliever Fernando DeLaCruz walked the bases loaded with one out in the New Haven seventh, and Jim Dedrick came in from the bullpen. Jake Weber singled to score Jermaine Clark, and Keith Gordon`s single drove in Greg Connors, and the Ravens had a 5-2 lead.

In the Thunder ninth against Ravens closer Aaron Scheffer, Jess Graham, RJ Johnson, and Aaron Capista all singled to load the bases with one out. Jorge DeLeon singled to score Graham and Johnson, and the Ravens` lead was trimmed to 5-4. Virgil Chevalier connected for a sacrifice fly to plate Capista, and the game was tied at 5-5.
