Trenton Thunder News TRENTON- The Trenton Thunder, Double A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, had their three game winning streak snapped as the Binghamton Mets, Double A affiliate of the New York Mets, were the victors by a score of 9-5. Allen Dina batted 2-5, including a double, and three RBI and Dan Held went 2-2, including a double, a stolen base and three runs scored, to lead the B-Mets over the Thunder in front of 7,261 at Waterfront Park.

Thunder starting ace, Chris Reitsma, lasted a short four innings, as he allowed four runs on five hits, three walks and four strikeouts. Andy Hazlett took the loss for the Thunder, falling to 6-4 on the season. He allowed three runs to score, none of them earned, on four hits and three strikeouts. Radhames Dykhoff, now 2-0 on the season, earned the win for the B-Mets, throwing 2.1 innings, giving up no runs, one hit, one walk and striking out two.

The Thunder came out ahead early in the first inning, scoring one. RJ Johnson came home on a single to right field by Virgil Chevalier. The B-Mets would storm back in the top of the fourth, scoring four runs. John Tamargo scored on a base hit by Held. After a double steal by Held and Escobar, the two scored on a Bryon Gainey double. Gainey came home on a single by former Thunder player, Gavin Jackson, and the score was 4-1.

The Thunder added a run in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single to left field by Damian Sapp. The Thunder scored two runs in the sixth with Jess Graham and Shea Hillenbrand coming home on a single by Thunder newcomer, Carlos Leon, and the scored was tied 4-4.

The B-Mets scored three runs in the eighth on a double by Dina to regain their lead. Binghamton scored again in the top of the ninth off of Thunder reliever, Marty McLeary, as Held and Tamargo came home on a base hit by Jason Phillips, 2-5. The Thunder brought one run home in the bottom of the ninth as Aaron Capista, 2-5, scored on a single by Luis Rodriguez, also 2-5, but could not complete the rally, making the final score 9-5.

The Thunder`s record stands at 61-68 with the loss. They will start Joel Bennett (3-2) on the mound against JD Arteaga (9-5), for the B-Mets, who improve to 76-52 with the win. The third game of this series will start at 7:05 p.m.
