Trenton Thunder News TRENTON- For the second time this season, the Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, committed five fielding errors in one game, resulting this time in a 5-3 loss, in front of 7,322 at Waterfront Park. The come from behind win for the Binghamton Mets, Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets, brings their record to 77-53.

Corey Brittan earned the win for Binghamton, throwing a one hit, no runs, seventh inning, and improves to 7-1 on the season. Thunder reliever, Andy Hazlett, took the loss for Trenton, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits, no walks and a strike out in one inning of work. Jerrod Riggan earned the save, his 26th of the season.

The Mets scored in the first inning as Brian Cole came home on a ground out by Alan Dina. The Thunder tied the game in the bottom of the third as Les Dennis scored on a ground out by Aaron Capista.

The Mets went ahead by a run in the top of the sixth as Dina scored on an error by right fielder, Mark Fischer. The Thunder answered with two runs to take the lead in the bottom of the seventh. Luis Rodriguez scored on a double to left by Fischer and Les Dennis grounded out to B-Mets starter, Dicky Gonzalez, to score Fischer, making the score 3-2.

The B-Mets came from behind in the top of the ninth, scoring three runs. Jimmy Gonzalez and BJ Huff scored on a throwing error by shortstop, Aaron Capista, after a fielding error by third baseman, Les Dennis, allowed the two runners to reach scoring position. John Tamargo scored the final run of the inning on a base hit to center field by Cole. The Thunder did not score again, making the final total 5-3.

With the loss, the Thunder fall to 62-69 and will head to New Haven for their final four road games. The Thunder will start Nerio Rodriguez (5-6) on the mound against Brian Fuentes (6-11) who will throw for the Ravens. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.
