Trenton Thunder News TRENTON – Kevin Olsen (3-4) pitched 8.2 innings, allowing four hits and striking out five, as the Portland SeaDogs completed a series sweep of the Trenton Thunder, 2-0, in front of 6,802 at Mercer County Waterfront Park. Bobby Rogers came on in the ninth inning to get his 22nd save of the season. Justin Duchscherer (7-9) suffered the loss for the Thunder, allowing the two runs, while striking out ten SeaDog batters.

Portland put up one run in the second inning off of Duchscherer as Brandon Harper homered to left field, with two outs. The second run for the SeaDogs came in the sixth, as Todd Betts started off the inning with a walk, and was batted in on a double by Chris Norton. The Thunder were unable to score any runs, as the offense posted four hits against Olsen.

Terrance Hill relieved Duchscherer in the seventh inning and worked 1.1 innings, allowing no hits or runs. Jim Dedrick finished the game for the Thunder, pitching the ninth, giving up one hit, striking out one, and allowing no runs. Rogers earned the save by retiring the only batter he faced in the ninth, leaving the score at 2-0.

The Thunder start the season`s final series tomorrow night when the New Britain Rock Cats come to Waterfront Park. The starting pitchers for both teams are TBA, for the 7:05 p.m. start.
