Enjoy a Show; Keep Someone Warm

by Press Release | Jan 3, 2007
Haddonfield Plays & Players kicks off 2007 with "Funny Girl," the heartwarming, and heartbreaking, story of vaudeville performer Fanny Brice. Brice is a young singer whose remarkable talent and gutsy attitude land her in the famed Ziegfeld Follies' spotlight, and bring her to the attention of dashing man-about-town Nick Arnstein. The show features music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Bob Merrill, and includes such classic numbers as "People" and "Don't Rain on My Parade."

A Preview Performance will be held on Thursday, January 11, at 7:30 PM. The show opens on Friday, January 12, and continues with weekend performances thru Saturday, February 3.

Friday and Saturday shows -- January 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27, February 2 and 3 -- are at 8 PM. Sunday matinees -- January 14, 21 and 28 -- are at 2 PM.

Tickets for the Preview and matinees are $16; tickets for the evening performances are $18. Two-for-one tickets are available for the Preview, January 11, and Opening Night, January 12.

Tickets can be ordered in advance by calling the Box Office at 856-429-8139 or visiting the Plays & Players web site at www.haddonfieldplayers.com.

All performances will be held at the Plays & Players Theatre, located on South Atlantic Avenue, just off Upland Way, in the Crows Woods section of Haddonfield.

SPECIAL NOTE: Haddonfield Plays & Players is collecting blankets to be distributed in Philadelphia. Theatre-goers are encouraged to bring new and gently-used blankets to the theatre during upcoming "Funny Girl" performances.
