Please Don't Miss Steven's Gala

by Press Release | Feb 18, 2007
Please Don't Miss Steven's Gala Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a genetic neuromuscular disease similar to Lou Gehrig's disease in that it causes a progressive loss of movement and function (including sitting, crawling, walking, eating and eventually breathing). A local non-profit group known as Families of SMA, South Jersey chapter, was formed by families and friends of locally afflicted children.

Every year we hold an annual gala, called Steven's Gala, in memory of Steven Moyer, who lit up the world for nine months. This event raises money for research and assistance to SMA children whose families lacks the money to fight this awful disease.

In fewer than five years, we have raised close to a half of a million dollars through various fundraising events.

Steven's Gala is scheduled for February 23, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, from 7pm until midnight. The cost is $75 per person. The price includes hors d'oeuvres and 3-course meal, strolling musicians, 19-piece orchestra, and Sounds of Sinatra. There will be a huge silent auction and basket raffle.
