Operation Helping Hand -- You Can Help
Now through December 30, 2008, community members are invited to donate phone cards, writing materials, stamps, baby wipes, batteries, coffee and personal hygiene items, all of which will be delivered to the troops this January. The items will be collected at The Mall at Voorhees Town Center in both the Customer Service office and the Camden County Store. The Star Group, M&M and NJ State Police will also collect items donated by their employees at internal donation drives. Operation Helping Hand culminates on January 7, 2009 when The Star Group and M&M, deliver all of the contributions to Fort Dix/McGuire Air Force Base.
“For more than two decades, The Star Group and M&M have spearheaded initiatives on behalf of many philanthropic and community causes. Supporting our troops is one cause that we hold close to our hearts. Through Operation Helping Hand, we offer our local community the opportunity to join us in giving back to those who so heroically serve our country. And what better time than the holidays to express our gratitude,” said Rosanio.
“In this season of goodwill, we are confident that the people of the South Jersey region will again demonstrate their generosity and caring with everyday items that are sure to brighten the holidays for these courageous men and women,” said Palmieri.
