NORWICH RALLIES IN NINTH FOR 5-3 WIN

(Trenton)- Norwich hit two home runs in the 9th inning to rally and beat Trenton, 5-3, Thursday night at Waterfront Park. The loss snapped Trenton`s seven-game winning streak.
Trenton (24-27) led the game 3-0 after seven innings thanks in part to starter Casey Fossum. He allowed two hits over seven innings with a season-high 12 strikeouts. At one point, he struck out 7 straight hitters, from the 1st to the 3rd innings.
Norwich (30-22) started their rally with an RBI double by John Rodriguez in the 8th inning to cut the deficit to 3-1.
In the 9th inning, the Navigators got back-to-back hits by Kirk Pierce and Teuris Olivaris before Mike Cervanak hit a three-run homer off Cory Spencer (2-2) for a 4-3 lead. Rodriguez added a solo shot off B.J. Leach for the 5-3 final.
It was Spencer`s first "blown save" of the season after seven saves.
Alex Pacheco (2-1) worked the final two innings to get the win.
Trenton will play in Reading, PA against the Phillies on Friday night at 7:05 PM. Justin Duchscherer (4-3) will start for Trenton against Reading`s Adam Walker (5-3).
