SJ Attractions: Camden Waterfront The City of Camden has come a long way over the past few years. Wiggins Park, the NJ State Aquarium and the Camden Children's Garden are just a few of this city's well-known attractions. Here are some of the others.

Lets start with the home of the Camden River Sharks baseball team. Campbell's Field, located at the end of Cooper St. is the Camden waterfront's latest addition. If you're looking for some great local baseball action, and cheap tickets, this is the place to go. With daily promotions, weekly fireworks and a play area for the kids, this is a definite "don't miss" when visiting Camden.

Not into baseball? How about a visit to the nations most decorated battleship? That's right, the U.S.S. New Jersey is now docked along the Camden Waterfront.

Born just across the river at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in 1940, she set sail on May 23, 1943. Measuring 887-feet 7 inches long and sporting nine 16-inch guns, this is one lady that demands attention. This ship has seen action in every conflict from the Second World War through the Gulf War.

Thanks to the hard work of volunteers and the Home Port Alliance this great symbol of our nation's history is now available to the public.

The two hour guided tour of the ship will take you throughout the Battleship New Jersey. Led by certified volunteer tour guides, visitors will view the Berthing areas and Life at Sea and History of the USS New Jersey exhibits, as well as the interactive Combat Engagement Center. The tour route also features a look inside the ship's legendary 16-inch gun turrets, the Bridge, Captain's and Admiral's cabins, Officer's Wardroom and two mess areas.

Looking for a little music? Well you can find that along the waterfront as well. Just head on over to the Tweeter Center and enjoy world-class entertainment year round. Opened in June of 1995, the Center, the first-of-its-kind year-round facility serves as a 25,000 capacity outdoor amphitheater during the summer months which features a huge lawn with giant video screens, state-of-the-art computerized sound enhancement, and spectacular views of the Philadelphia skyline. In the fall and winter, the Tweeter Center converts to a fully enclosed, climate controlled, theatre for anywhere from 1,600-7,000 guests offering a variety of concerts, Broadway theatrical productions and family entertainment.

As you can see, the City of Camden has plenty to offer. From Baseball to Battleships you can find it all along the Camden waterfront.
