Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks

by Vegas Hags | Nov 3, 2002
Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks How about those first place Eagles?! It wasn’t pretty, but they took care of the hated Giants and now go to the Windy City for a grudge rematch with the Bears. Will they put Jim Miller out again? Will the Bears make a run at a revenge - fueled upset?

New England (plus 2) at Buffalo
Speaking of revenge games, Drew Bledsoe gets a shot at his old team. It will be the teacher (Drew) over the Student (Tom Brady) in this one.
Bills 27 – Pats 24

Baltimore (plus 7½) at Atlanta
Michael Vick is really getting the hang of this. If Ray Lewis were healthy, I may lean towards the Ravens, but without Lewis at full speed, Vick wins this one on his own.
Falcons 19 – Ravens 14

Philadelphia (minus 6½) at Chicago
Will the Eagles have an MNF hangover? Will the Bears step up to avenge their playoff loss to the Birds? Will Mules fly over Philadelphia on Monday? No, No and No. McNabb is from Chi-town and will put on a show for the home-town folks.
Eagles 30 – Bears 17

Cincinnati (plus 3) at Houston
Please don’t force me to watch this game.
Bengals 20 – Texans 19

Minnesota (plus 7) at Tampa Bay
Tampa Bay was asleep at the wheel last week and barely snuck past the Panthers. If the Bucs don’t put points on the board early, the Vikings could win here. I think the Vikes D crumbles, though.
Bucs 26 – Vikings 17

New York Jets (plus 7½) at San Diego
Can the Chargers keep it up? They folded big-time around this time last year. New coach, better focus. Marty keeps winning to rub in Danny Snyder’s face.
Chargers 24- Jets 17

Dallas (plus 3) at Detroit
Another one that is too boring to comment on.
Lions 23 – Cowboys 17

Tennessee (plus 3) at Indianapolis
This could be a decent game…if the Colts wake up…if Jeff Fischer gets his team fired up. Too many ifs for me.
Colts 29 – Titans 24

San Francisco (plus 3) at Oakland
Another grudge match as Jerry Rice and Charlie Garner get a shot to show Steve Marriucci that they weren’t washed up. I think the Raiders rebound here at home.
Raiders 35 – 49ers 28

Washington (plus 2½) at Seattle
Two dog teams with cocky coaches that aren’t getting the job done. Unfortunately, the bigger jerk wins here due to the injuries on the Hawks.
Redskins 24 – Seahawks 20

St. Louis (minus 3) at Arizona
As I said last week, the Cards are pretenders. The Rams think they can get back into the wild card hunt. So do I.
Rams 35 – Cardinals 20

Pittsburgh (minus 3) at Cleveland
The Steelers are looking good, but this is always a battle. I’m a little hesitant to go against the home team in this rivalry, but the Steelers are too solid across the board.
Steelers 19 – Browns 13

Jacksonville (plus 3) at New York Giants
The G-men are toast after the loss on MNF to the Birds. They’ll show a lot of quit this week.
Jags 20 – Giants 10

Miami (plus 3½) at Green Bay
The Dolphins are also toast now that Jay Fiedler is out (did I really say that?!). Without a decent backup QB, the Pack will stack the line on Ricky Williams and force Ray Lucas to throw more bad passes.
Packers 23 – Dolphins 16

Vegas Hags last week:
Against the spread: 6-8
Straight up: 6-8

Vegas Hags record to date:
Against the spread: 71-44
Straight up: 76-39
