(Trenton)- Josh Hancock allowqed one run over six innings and Luis Garcia added a 1st Inning homer as Trenton beat New Britain, 2-1, Wednesday night. The Thunder move to within 5 games of 1st Place with the win.

Trenton (35-35) got its only runs of the night on Garcia`s two-run homer in the 1st Inning.

The rest of the evening belonged to the pitchers as Hancock allowed one run over six innings to earn his 4th straight win. He walked one and struck out six.

Jorge DeLaRosa pitched two scoreless innings of relief to set up Bryce Florie, who worked a scoreless 9th Inning for his 2nd save.

New Britain (40-30) got their only run in the 3rd Inning on an RBI single by Jeff Smith.

The Rock Cats lost Manager Stan Cliburn and Pitching Coach Stu Cliburn in the 9th Inning as both were ejected arguing balls and strikes.

Trenton moves back to within five games of New Britain for 1st Place in the division. The Thunder will begin a seven-game roadtrip on Friday in Erie, PA against the Seawolves. Mike Kusiewicz (3-4) starts for Trenton against Erie`s Nate Cornejo (8-3).
