Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks

by Vegas Hags | Oct 27, 2002
Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks Now it’s football season for real! When the Giants and Eagles play, you know it’s going to be a dog - fight and an all out war. There are also several other hard - hitting rivalries in the mix this weekend including the Steelers at the Ravens and the Raiders at the Chiefs. Year to date I’m a not to shabby 70-31 straight up and 65-36 against the spread.

Detroit (plus 7) at Buffalo
The Lions are better with Joey Harrington at the helm, but Drew Bledsoe is turning the Bills into a contender.
Bills 31 – Lions 20

Pittsburgh (minus 2) at Baltimore
The Steelers are looking like the team everyone expected them to be and the Ravens are much better than expected. With Ray Lewis hurting, I like the Steelers here.
Steelers 17 - Ravens 13

Tampa Bay (minus 7) at Carolina
Believe it or not, the Panthers were a decent team with Rodney Peete behind center. Not any more.
Bucs 24 – Panthers 10

Tennessee (minus 5½) at Cincinnati
The Bengals are awful, but they’re also due. This game scares me, but I have to go against the Bungles.
Titans 24 – Bengals 21

Seattle (plus 2½) at Dallas
Emmitt Smith could break the record in this one, so I think the Cowboys and the crowd will be fired up. The Cowboys seem to win every other week, anyway!
Cowboys 19 – Seahawks 16

Oakland (minus 2½) at Kansas City
This will be a serious shoot out since neither of these teams know how to play defense and both are stacked on O. The Raiders need a win to get back on track.
Raiders 34 – Chiefs 30

Chicago (minus 1) at Minnesota
I told you the Bears were lucky last year! The Vikings, though are just awful. I bet Red wishes he didn’t can Dennis Green, now.
Bears 20 – Vikings 17

Atlanta (plus 4) at New Orleans
This should be a good one. Two very good young QB’s (and cousins) shoot it out. The Saints could be due for a letdown, but probably not this week at home.
Saints 28 – Falcons 27

Cleveland (plus 3) at New York Jets
The Jets are looking better now that choke artist Vinnie T. is on the pine. The Browns just haven’t progressed the way they should have this year.
Jets 27 – Browns 23

Arizona (plus 8) at San Francisco
The Cards are pretenders.
49ers 29 – Cardinals 13

Houston (plus 10½) at Jacksonville
The Jags come back from the bye with a vengeance.
Jaguars 30 – Texans 20

Denver (plus 3) at New England
New England desperately needs this win to stay in the hunt.
Pats 23 – Broncos 21

Indianapolis (minus 1) at Washington
The Colts will bounce back and bounce Spurriers confused team. Yo, Steve, your player carousel is making us nauseous!
Colts 28 – Skins 17

New York Giants (plus 7) at Philadelphia
Yeah, baby! This will be another knock down drag out brawl…just the way we like our Eagles / Giants games. Look for the Birds to continue their dominance of the G-men as they pull away late in the game. Take it easy on the tailgating, will you!
Eagles 24 – Giants 19

Vegas Hags last week:
Against the spread: 10-4
Straight up: 12-2

Vegas Hags record to date:
Against the spread: 65-36
Straight up: 70-31
