Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks

by Vegas Hags | Nov 10, 2002
Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks Boy, do those odds makers know what they’re doing! How else do you explain the Eagles winning by 6 when they are favored by 6 ½? There were a few games like that. Luckily I’m not a betting man or I’d think there was a conspiracy or something! Anyway, the Birds took care of business – albeit in an ugly manner – and try to stay in the hunt for home field playoff advantage with a win against the Colts today. Read on for the prediction on that game and the entire slate of NFL games.

Cincinnati (plus 5½) at Baltimore
I think I’ll watch paint dry instead.
Ravens 16 – Bengals 10

New Orleans (minus 4½) at Carolina
Rodney Peete is back (whoo – hoo!), but that won’t be enough for the Panthers.
Saints 24 – Panthers 17

Detroit (plus 10) at Green Bay
The Lions have been playing everyone tough lately, and Favre is nicked up. I still like the Pack, but the Lions will cover.
Packers 27 – Lions 20

New York Giants (minus 1) at Minnesota
The Vikings are awful, but the Giants aren’t so hot themselves. This game will be close, but I have to think the Giants can win this one somehow.
Giants 21 – Vikings 17

Indianapolis (plus 9½) at Philadelphia
No letdown this week. Peyton Manning will be frustrated all day long as the Eagles D-backs will make him miserable. James Mungro running the ball? Please! Duce has a big day here and McNabb has respectable passing numbers as the Birds lay another beating on Tony Dungy.
Eagles 30 – Colts 20

Atlanta (plus 5) at Pittsburgh
The Falcons are improving, but it will be tough to knock off the resurgent Steelers at home.
Steelers 24 – Falcons 21

San Diego (plus 6) at St. Louis
The 2nd half collapse begins (or began last week) for the Chargers. Actually, it’s just that their schedule gets much tougher. The Rams need this one badly.
Rams 28 – Chargers 20

Houston (plus 9½) at Tennessee
A rivalry that no one outside of Houston cares about. The Texans should be up for this one and the Titans aren’t that good. Tennessee wins, but don’t lay the points.
Titans 26 – Texans 21

Seattle (plus 3½) at Arizona
Paul Holmgren should get his resume out in a hurry if the Hawks go down this week. With QB and WR injuries, it will be tough, plus they are on the road. I think the Seahawks squeak one out here.
Seahawks 17 – Cardinals 14

Washington (plus 2½) at Jacksonville
I can’t see the Skins winning on the road - if you consider Florida the road for them, of course.
Jags 27 – Redskins 20

New England (minus 3½) at Chicago
The Bears are awful and the Pats need this one to stay in the hunt. It will be tough on the road, but I think they run the ball and wear down the Bears D.
Patriots 20 – Bears 15

Kansas City (plus 6½) at San Francisco
The Chiefs come off a bye and the Niners come of a tough OT win. Even on the road, I like the Chiefs in this spot.
Chiefs 33- 49ers 30

Miami (plus 2½) at New York Jets
This looks like a slam-dunk. The Dolphins are spiraling down after a great start, and the Jets looked great this week. Forget all of that when these two teams play each other. It will be ugly, but the Fish get a W.
Dolphins 17 – Jets 13

Oakland (plus 5½) at Denver
This is another great, wacky rivalry. Oakland lost another tough one last week and is also in the dumps after a great start. The Raiders are due, but the Broncos are coming off of a bye and playing at home.
Broncos 28 – Raiders 24

Enjoy the games and check back next week. Send any comments to me at ghaggerty@southjersey.com. Thanks for reading!
