Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks

Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks Watching the Eagles last Sunday was worse than getting a root canal. Let’s hope the anemic Offense wakes up and the D gets angry this week against the Cards. I had another decent week going 8-6 against the spread and 9-4-1 (how about that Steelers – Falcons game?) straight up. We all know the NFL teams that are for real crank it up in November and December. Let’s see who steps it up this week…

Arizona (plus 11) at Philadelphia
The Cards usually give the Birds fits. Jake Plummer is awful against the rest of the league and Dan Marino against the Eagles. The Eagles should be embarrassed about their effort against the Colts and although the Cards have been respectable this season, this game at home means too much for the Eagles. 11 scares me, but then someone has to pay for last week.
Eagles 31 – Cardinals 17

New Orleans (plus 3) at Atlanta The Falcons are much improved and the Saints look like the real deal on offense. There won’t be much defense here as the underdog Saints show who’s boss. Vick and Brooks should put on a show.
Saints 28 – Falcons 24

Cleveland (minus 3½) at Cincinnati
Cincinnati has looked better, but the Browns come off the bye week ready to play.
Browns 23 – Bengals 16

Dallas (plus 7) at Indianapolis
Both of these teams have been Jekyll and Hyde. Colts come back to earth but squeak by.
Colts 24 – Cowboys 20

Buffalo (plus 3½) at Kansas City
This will be another air show. Bledsoe and the Bills come off a bye and the Chiefs come off a tough loss. A tough call, but take the points.
Chiefs 27 – Bills 24

Baltimore (plus 4½) at Miami
Man, the Dolphins stink without Jay Fiedler. I can’t see anything changing this week.
Ravens 17 – Dolphins 13

Green Bay (minus 6½) at Minnesota
The Vikings are horrible, the Packers look unbeatable. Beware…
Packers 30 – Vikings 26

Washington (plus 3½) at New York Giants
Here’s two more Jekyll and Hyde teams. The Giants are short on receivers, but should still handle the skins at home.
Giants 17 – Redskins 14

Pittsburgh (minus 3) at Tennessee
The Steelers should be almost as mad as the Eagles after blowing a big lead last week.
Steelers 27 – Titans 19

San Francisco (minus 2½) at San Diego
This should be a good game if Marty can keep the Chargers from their annual second half nose-dive.
49ers 24 – Chargers 20

Carolina (plus 8½) at Tampa Bay
The Bucs almost let one go to the Panthers last time they played. Not this time.
Bucs 17 – Panthers 7

New York Jets (minus 3) at Detroit
The Lions made me look bad last week! The Jets will make the Lions look bad this week.
Jets 26 – Lions 17

Jacksonville (minus 6) at Houston
Payback time.
Jaguars 28 – Texans 17

Denver (minus 5) at Seattle
The Broncos are the other angry team of the week. Seattle will be the sacrificial lamb.
Broncos 31- Seahawks 20

New England (plus 3½) at Oakland
This is the last of the Jekyll and Hyde teams playing each other this week. I like the Veteran makeup of the Raiders here at home. There is also the revenge factor from last year’s snowy playoff game.
Raiders 33 – Patriots 27

Chicago (plus 10) at St. Louis
Stick a fork in Da Bears. Will there be a QB controversy in St. Louis if Mark Bulger goes undefeated and Kurt Warner comes back next week and looks like he did before he got hurt (bad)? Stay tuned…

Rams 30 – Bears 17

Enjoy the games and check back next week. Send any comments to me at ghaggerty@southjersey.com. Thanks for reading!
